This wonderful photo was taken late in the
afternoon of by Christopher Willett who visited Baalbek on 22 December
2003. The setting sun is shining on the Anti Lebanon mountains in the
background. It is not yet warm enough to melt the snow and bring growth back to
the land.
It is particularly interesting to me that
Chris visited at the Solstice, or the shortest day when the sun is lowest and
the day shortest.
