Simo Lagnawi is the U.K's leading Guembri player and Gnawa Master has performed at major world class festivals and venues such as Glastonbury Festival, the V&A, BBC 6Music (Cerys Matthews Show), the BBC3 Late Junction Stage at Latitude Festival with his band Electric Jalaba (BBC World Service, British Museum, Leighton House, Larmer tree, Secret garden party, Roundhouse, Ritzy, Rich Mix, Hootananny, Hackney Attik...to name but a few!
He fuses traditional Gnawa (sacred trance music from Morocco) and Gnawa Fusion with, Electric Jalaba, Kamba band and Gnawa Griot. Simo continuously pushes new boundaries fusing Gnawa with music from countries such as Gambia, Burkina faso, Senegal, Guinea, Mali, India, Japan, Venezuela, and the Caribbean.

Griselda Sanderson
Swedish nyckelharpa
Originally from a musical family in Scotland Griselda first encountered the Swedish nyckelharpa at gatherings of folk musicians from Scotland, Sweden and beyond. Now based in South West England she is one of a small but growing number of nyckelharpa players in the UK. Her debut nyckelharpa album 'Harpaphonics' was released in 2009, Clive Davis of the Sunday Times said at the time "With its ornate curves and multiple strings and keys, the Swedish nyckelharpa makes Jimmy Page's double-necked guitar look like a ukulele.Griselda Sanderson tames the unwieldy beast and delivers enthralling performances". As well as playing traditional Scottish and Swedish music in groups such as Waulk Elektrik Griselda has worked with a number of West & North African musicians like Juldeh Camara in the ensemble Julaba Kunda, Senegalese singer Amadou Diagne and Moroccan Gnawa master Simo Lagnawi, both as a performer and producer. Her love of stringed instruments comes from both sides of the family; her father was a violin maker and player and her maternal great aunt, a viola player, was the first woman to play in the London Symphony Orchestra.
